Wings (I Wish)

I wish I had wings,

so I could fly away

to a better place.

I wish I could go

explore the world

with you.

I wish I were a bird,

soaring high up in the sky.

I wish you were

there,

by my side.

I wish I were a plane,

flying late at night.

I wish you were

the clouds 

and stars

that I pass by.

I wish I was rich,

so I could buy a private jet,

and hire a pilot

 to take me anywhere.

I wish you would go 

on flights,

with me.

I wish we could

go anywhere we wanted,

without any questions 

or judgment.

I wish I could

openly express

our feelings towards each other.

Perhaps in another land,

my dear,

but until then,

I will love you 

from a distance.

I wish I had wings,

so I could finally 

escape this cold,

dark place.

I wish I could fly,

so high up in the sky,

and stay there,

until things get better.

I wish I could

change the world

over night,

so that you and I

could live our lives

in peace.

But what I wish for

most of all

is for you, too,

to have wings

because someday 

I want to fly away

with you.
