Why you should hop on the rift
“Wild Rift” is a multiplayer online battle arena game (MOBA) that involves real-time strategy in which two teams of characters compete against each other with the goal of protecting their home bases while destroying the opposing team’s. My experience with “Wild Rift” hasn’t always been a good one, since I play the game competitively and often find myself with a teammate that’s trolling, and ruins the game for our team, which isn’t very fun. Although the community has a fair share of trollers (perhaps too many) your experience could be completely different from mine if you decide to play casually with friends instead since friends make everything better.
“Wild Rift” is unlike any other mobile game that I’ve played because the visuals are high quality, and the animations are very smooth and polished. The game is easy to get into because Wild Rift is very generous to beginner players. The game gives out missions and daily missions that’ll reward you with a character skin or a chest that will allow you to pick any character that you want (except for new ones). The game has such a wide variety of different characters you can choose and play, in addition to five different roles you can choose from. Each player on your team selects a unique role and then has specific responsibilities.
Based on what type of gaming experience you’re trying to have while playing you might want to pick a different role. The top lane role would be your go to if you’re trying to relax but you should pick the jungle role if you want to if you want to have a lot of action. But beware, it comes with a lot of responsibility. ADC if you want to be the main carry of the game, and support if you’re into helping out other people. The roles create a unique experience for players since they would want to select characters that are best suited for the role they want to play which determines how you play the game . You can choose to main one role, but it’s more beneficial to learn more than one role in the case you don’t get the role that you want.
Once you get into the game, to win a match you have to destroy the enemy’s structure called the nexus. You can only reach the nexus after destroying a row of a total of nine turrets (3 in each of the 3 lanes). There are three game modes that you can play. Each game mode varies in difficulty: normal, where you don’t take the game seriously, Aram, the fun mode, and Ranked, a hyper-competitive mode. There is a matchmaking system within Ranked that puts people with relative skill levels up against each other and makes for really intense games.
What keeps you coming back to “Wild Rift” is the game modes that will each give you unique experiences. In each game mode you should prioritize leveling up which you can do through killing minions that grantsyou exp to level up, giving you better stats and the option to unlock new skills, gold that you can use to buy items that make your characters stronger. There are 10 ranks; from the least to most skilled: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger. If you’re starting out in the game there will be a tutorial for you to do that’ll help you out on understanding how to play the game.
In my opinion, I think “Wild Rift” is a great game. The visuals are great for a mobile game, the controls feel nice, the optimization is great, and it’s free to play (unless you want to spend money for skins which are purely cosmetic). You can spend a lot of time in “Wild Rift” since there is a lot of content in the game, you could try learning all five roles, becoming competitive, or just having fun regularly, weeks or months of playing without getting bored of it. However there’s still room for improvement in the game, such as the moderation system. A lot of people get away with saying a lot of awful things without getting punished in any type of way, or they ruin the game for nine other people without getting any serious punishment. They could also balance out some of the characters since a couple of the characters feel stronger than the others. If you want to try the game out for yourself to see if it’s for you or not, it’s downloadable in the App Store.
