Reasons Why Donald Trump is Acting Like a King

Trump is abusing his power. He is acting like an old French king, King Louis XIV! My reasoning for why I think this is because the definition of a king, or monarch, is a person who has authority over people and places, and cannot be punished in any criminal or civil court. It is someone who has total control, and that’s what Trump is trying to get. In this article you’re going to learn three ways Trump has been behaving like a king.

Donald Trump Can Break the Law

President Donald Trump returned to the White House and started his second non-consecutive term as the 47th President of the United States of America on January 20, 2025, following his victory in the 2024 presidential election. Trump had previously served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021, and he tried to overturn Joe Biden’s victory, but he got back into the White House anyway. He’s also a felon because got charged in New York City months after a jury found him guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents to cover up an extramarital affair. The judge who tried him sentenced him, which makes him a convicted felon, but they let him get back into running for President. That’s what kings do, whatever they want. They cannot be held accountable by laws or courts or judges.

Donald Trump is Mishandling Public Funds

He’s cutting important programs that use citizens’ tax money, so rich people like himself can use more of that tax money for stuff they’re interested in. He also used an executive order on Nov. 9th to take away people’s food stamps/SNAP benefits A (this is a federal assistance program in the U.S. that provides funds monthly for low income families, and the number of kids in a household is what makes them eligible to get stamps and afford enough food.) 70% of SNAP households including children, the elderly, or disabled members, the cuts cause universal distress for families.

Donald Trump was not thinking of or caring about the citizens when he did this because Thanksgiving and Christmas were coming. Around Thanksgiving families usually save up and then spend their food stamps so they can still eat a big feast. I am still thinking of how many people did not have the food they wanted, and needed, on their table. Food prices have gone up throughout the year, and it’s not fair that Trump is taking stuff from people who need it.Trump is also being super confusing. Whenever he wants he can take away food stamps or give them back to people through executive orders. That’s the monarchy mentality!

Donald Trump is Trying to Decide Who Is American

He’s weaponizing ICE to make them a bad police force that tracks down and arrests migrants, people who came down here to work hard and to try to create a better life and environment for their family. I think this is not fair because if migrants are doing the right things that they’re supposed to be doing in America, like working and taking their kids to school, then no one should ever send any of them back to their former countries. This is especially upsetting if they left that country for scary reasons, like oppression. Trump is trying to send even people who have Visas back to where they came from because they are not ‘American’ enough. Kings used to do this too, ordering groups of people to leave their kingdoms and then sending people to attack those who didn’t leave.
