Nine fashion tips to help you find your style
Sometimes finding your style is hard. It’s not easy to find what makes you, you. Here are a few tips to hold in your mind if you are feeling your style isn’t what it could be. In this article, you’ll find some tips that will help your wardrobe or start your new wardrobe.
1. Try layering
If your t-shirt isn’t what it could be, put on a thin long sleeve under. It adds layers. You can try it with necklaces too. If the chain doesn’t look that good and looks boring, you should add a main piece to focus on with a chain as a background. Just make sure to stick to the same colors.
2. Go to thrift stores
Thrift stores can be cheap and worth it because you can find any style there. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, just browse and see what there is. I always find good brands for cheap. You can always change what you buy by dyeing or cutting it. Sometimes you get some really good finds if you search thoroughly. Thrift stores are everywhere too.
3. If you’re buying snow gear do not cheap out
Snow gear is something worth spending the money on if you’re an adult.
You’re not growing anymore, spend it. Kids and teens are constantly growing so going cheap with them make sense. . I always buy snow pants from Savers and they work unbelievably well. Go to the thrift store and look at the utility section. There are always snow pants there. Buy your gloves and boots from Carhartt or LL Bean. It is always worth it.
4. Look for a color you like
It’s always a good idea to start with something small. If you have dyed hair try matching your outfit with your hair. Or do the opposite and try color blocking which is when you add different colors together that you usually don’t. It gives you a vibrant look and feel. I like adding basic colors like blue, yellow and maybe a little red. Check out this video if you are interested in color blocking.
5. Add jewelry
Don’t be afraid to add a chain or two. They look good and give your outfit something else to add in terms of accessories. If chains aren’t your thing, try rings and bracelets. I can always get a basic chain from Micheal’s and add a charm to it! Lots of rings look super good and ear piercings too. Matching necklaces and bracelets can be cool too if done properly.
6. Try colorful shoes
Even if it’s blue shoes on a white suit, adding color to a basic outfit will let you keep it classy while adding some flash. There’s a lot you can do with shoes, you can have them match outfits or let them stand out if they have patterns. I personally like basic cool shoes like high-top Vans or Converse, Dr. Martens look very cool too and they have different types of them.
7. Add a bag or purse
Bags are useful because they hold your stuff, but they can also be colorful and have designs on them and you can even get them designed in a specific way. Purses can really give you a flashy look while backpacks can make you look rugged and cool. Purses and backpacks are essential as they hold your phone, wallet, keys, and excess objects you’re carrying around like a laptop or first aid kit.
8. Use a belt
Sometimes it’s an accessory or sometimes it just keeps your pants up! Either way, it looks good when you tuck in your shirt or wear a cropped top. There are even belts with spikes on them and cool colorful ones too!
9. Wear a beanie or a hat
Wearing a beanie or a cap can add something else to look at in your outfit. It adds color and something else to color match too. I love to wear a neutral color hat with colorful clothes. It keeps the sun out of my eyes and gives your outfit a finishing touch.
Using all these tips can help make a great outfit. Whether you add something small like a hat or belt or if you color blocks your whole outfit or have matching shoes, It is all about finding your style. If you like it, wear it. Just don’t wear your clothes for other people’s taste or style.
