Five artists to be on the lookout for at Boston Calling
Boston’s calling is coming up! Are you coming or are you going to miss out on seeing some of your favorite artists perform in front of you live? Well, maybe not your favorites but these are five artists I’m looking forward to seeing and that you should be checking out regardless if you can make it or not.
- Paramore
Starting off this list strong is the one and only Paramore. With hits like “Still Into You,” “Fake Happy,” “All I Wanted” and “Misery Business” even if you aren’t a huge fan of the band everyone knows them and they have such good songs that anyone and everyone of all ages, races and different demographics can sing to despite being an American punk rock band. The band was created in 2004 in Tennessee, a state mostly known for its American country music, but is now a Grammy award-winning band. Paramore has been a comfort band for me with songs for any mood I’m in so they will be one of the bands I’m most excited to be seeing this upcoming weekend. After all, all I wanted was … to see PARAMORE in person!
- The Lumineers
I can not express how excited I am to see the Lumineers. They have had me hooked since I heard the song “Hey Ho.” It was a hit all around the world in 2012 and nobody could get enough of it. Then came “Ophelia,” an adorable song that again was a smash hit, always was on the radio and everyone knows at least those two songs. But these aren’t the only songs that are as catchy as their two most popular songs. They also have songs like “Gloria” “Flowers In Your Hair” and “Sleep On The Floor.” If you are a person who likes Indie/folk music and you aren’t already listening to the Lumineers … you are going to fall in love with their music and sound as much as I have.
- Noah Kahan
My third person to look out for and I’m so excited to see is Noah Kahan. I just recently just discovered him from TikTok as many teens my age do! But I’m so thankful I did because he is an artist me and friends who also enjoy his music can jam out too. If you are from New England and on TikTok you may know the song “Homesick” which went viral from the lyrics “I would leave if only I could find a reason .. I mean because I grew up in New England.” but that’s not even Noah Kahan’s most streamed song, that would be “Stick Season” which is about his hometown of Vermont! Noah Kahn has such good songs like “All My Love” and some sad down in the dumps songs but I’m so excited to see him because he’s from New England and the way he sings about it makes me feel so proud to be from here! If you like indie pop, folk-pop, or indie folk you’ll love Noah Kahans music.
- Zolita
Fourth is a lesser-known newer artist named Zolita who I also discovered from TikTok. But I became obsessed with a music video series she had made about teenage love that was focused on two love interests, I was obsessed with the music and the music videos. The songs I’m most excited to see are “Someone I ****** Once” And “Single in September.” But I’m also excited to see what other songs she plays in hopes that I find more music I like from her! Zolita is a pop song artist so if you’re an upbeat fun song kind of person you should check out.
- Foo Fighters
And last but not least the biggest headliner there is in Boston, which I’m so excited to see, is of course the one and only Foo Fighters. Everyone knows the name, many know the songs, and even if you don’t you can enjoy the music because they are such a good band with such a great guitarist and sadly although their drummer passed away recently their drumming is so amazing! With songs like “My Hero,” “Learn To Fly ” and my personal favorite “Everlong.” I can not wait to see the Foo Fighters! If you enjoy rock music and a great rock band you’ll most definitely enjoy the Foo Fighters.
Boston Calling 2023 is sure to be one for the books. Let’s hope these artists live up to the expectations and some others make a name for themselves. Stay tuned for my update on who rocked the show next week!
