Caleb Florence: The Sart to Endless Possibilities
“You’re better than all of them, show them you have to, you want to make it anywhere. Go above and beyond… Push past your limits. if you can still walk, you didn’t do enough. If you can still stand, you have to do more. You won’t make it anywhere if you don’t believe in yourself and sometimes you gotta tell yourself not a soul is better than you.” – Caleb Florence

Coming from Dorchester, Caleb Florence, a 17 year old local basketball player, has become big in the East Boston community. From the young age of 10, he loved the sport of basketball. He pushed himself everyday to become greater and greater and to say that he made it. His father, brothers, and sisters all support him on this journey. His friends support him as well and have shared core memories with him on and off of the court; so does his girlfriend, Evalynn.
Playing at East Boston High School (EBHS), he’s built a strong community and bonds there. Some of which he cherishes and will carry with him as he progresses with his career. Many of his friends stand by his side to help push him to be the best version of himself he can be.
Evalynn has supported him in as many ways possible. They have been together for around 6 months and Florence says “She’s been a great role model for my little sister, taking care of her and talking to her. She’s like a sister to her. Our relationship is amazing. She has the prettiest smile. She’s not just my girlfriend, but my best friend and my little coach on the sidelines making sure I stay on track and everything, also makes sure I don’t lose my cool, her serious voice scares the crap out of me sometimes.”
At EBHS, he played as a point guard (PG) and a shooting guard (SG). His iconic “12” is written across the back of his jersey as well as the determination he put in to become the player he is today.

He has many highlight videos showing his talent and what he’s able to do on the court. From shooting mid range shots, spicing up lay-ups, shooting breathtaking threes, and executing silent steals, he’s been able to enhance his game. He’s been nominated for having some of the sickest, most epic dunks in the high school division.
After all this he’s made it to the national level with many supporters behind him, his family and girlfriend being the biggest ones. Playing in Arizona for the Sequoia Stallions. Running down the court with the same number from high school. The number “12” across his chest reminds him of his team in Boston. The memories he shares with that team will be carried on into his national team and remembered during his upcoming seasons with the Stallions.
