I am a vine

I am a vine

Some people guide me toward the sun

And some thrust me away

Some try to weigh me down with bricks

But I grow anyway

Glass flowers snap when pressure taps

Never to grow again

I am a vine; I always climb

I sprout around all bends

Glass flowers melt exposed to heat

And only some regrow

Now that I climb, I am a vine

I shattered long ago
