Reasons why cooking is a necessity
Imagine that you’re at home, hungry, and you want some food in your stomach. Maybe you take out your phone to order some take-out, but then you realize you have no money, or all the food that’s available isn’t to your taste. Oh well, at least you can ask somebody to bring you food- but oh no! They’re too busy or can’t do it because they’re out of money. What can you do? Oh, I know! Learn how to cook! There are many reasons why you should learn how to cook, and this article will tell you why.
Cheap
Compared to cooking your own food from fresh ingredients bought at a grocery store, ordering meals is much more expensive. Imagine you want some fries but the price for one serving is $3-6 depending on the size you get and where you order them from. Instead of ordering you can get as many potatoes you want, they cost $0.75 each and then make the french fries from scratch. Small fries at McDonalds cost $1.89 – 2.49, or even more with tax and tip if you’re getting them delivered to you, and the amount of fries are less than a full potato. When making fries at home you can make more fries for less money. You’ll also have more left overs from cooking at home.
Nobody else is going to feed you
Although many families and cultures cook for people who are special to them, it is still important to learn how to cook for yourself. One day the people who bring you food might not be able to make it, or might be busy for a while, so then you’d starve or waste a bunch of money on takeout. Many people need to realize that the people in their lives have more important matters than giving you free food! Sometimes they might get tired of wasting a bunch of money and food on you because you don’t want to learn how to cook, sometimes they might live too far away, or if they live close by they might be getting ready to move. Also, people might get some bad news sent to them and they might be too sad to cook for anyone. They might then need your help, but since you didn’t wanna learn how to cook you can’t make them a special meal to cheer them up.
Fun activity

Whenever you feel bored you can always learn new recipes to cook at home. When you wanna learn something difficult, you can try and learn how to make something hard from scratch, like donuts, chinese egg noodles, spaghetti, and more! Knowing how to cook can help you make quick dishes too, like salsa, hot sausage cast-iron skillet pan pizza, or even a quick chicken noodle soup. Before you start learning to cook, you should make sure you have everything first, like the ingredients for the recipes! Sometimes the cookware isn’t as important, but you should make sure to have some of that as well, especially if the recipe actually requires it. The cookware can be very expensive, but you only have to worry about the prices of the cookware when you get them, because you’ll have them forever after that! Now you can have fun making recipes for yourself, friends, families and others whenever you want while having fun. Just make sure you make things that you actually want to eat.
Practice
Cooking takes a lot of time and patience, you will probably make a lot of mistakes. Go at a pace that suits you! Take your time to learn how to cut, boil, shave, and so much more. Mistakes are a part of learning, especially when it’s something that takes years to master (it’ll only take less if you’re superhuman or something). One very hard skill to learn in cooking is the knife skills! You need to learn how to cut things into very thin strips for some recipes, you might need to chop a certain way, you might need little or big boxed shaped cuts from the ingredients you have. You can learn how to make flavors from scratch. Timing can be hard, since you might need to make something for a dish the day before you actually eat it. Also, cooking is a type of art and you don’t have to be amazing at it as soon as you start. Take your time, people!
I hope you now know the importance of learning how to cook when you are trying to save money, be healthy, live alone, wanting to have fun, or just want to learn something new. Always remember this article whenever you feel like you don’t want to cook.
