Gloomy days
Day and night, dusk to dawn, stop and repeat is the daily routine.
Sleep in or stay up, long assignments piling up your schedule, the times of joy and freedom slowly slipping away. Rules — do this, don’t do that— yes! No. The freedom you once had was slowly being taken away; stay home they said. Some listened, some called it a hoax, now where are we? In the cycle that has been continuing for months with no change. Maybe this is forever, get up, go to the online classes that have you worried over if you’re going to pass, then eat. Maybe try the recipe you saw, then repeat for who knows how long. Life turns dark and gray as you have less connection with people and the seasons turn cold and rainy. Maybe you will see the sun today, but the gap larger than six feet might not bring the string of hope. But one day the sky will be a bright blue and the cycle will end, and life will return back to its previous cycle.
