Don’t miss these things in 2026

There’s so much to look forward to in the year 2026!

We’ve got the World Cup, the last one happened in 2022 and ended with Argentina winning a good match with France, but now after 4 years we will see who will be the winner this time! The last Avengers movie came out in 2019, and after 7 long years of wait we will see our heroes back on the big screen. Even more good news, GTA is finally releasing its sixth version, after 13 years of waiting.

Here’s a list about all that and more of the awesome things that will happen in this new year:

World Cup

The World Cup is the premier international football (soccer) tournament for national teams. It attracts billions of fans as the world’s most popular sporting event, and hosts a Women’s World Cup also held quadrennially. It determines the sport’s world champion through qualification rounds and a finals tournament featuring top national teams. This upcoming 2026 Cup will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States starting on Thursday, June 11th with the match between Mexico and Sudafrica.

Soccer was created in England in 1863, and has been so important to the world ever since, so The World Cup is a tournament of the most famous and beloved sport around the world. People experience excitement for their country to win the World Cup, and in the U.S. sometimes people root for their country of ancestry to win The World Cup.

I’m excited to see who will win the world cup this year. The last world cup in 2022 was the most viewed sporting event in history, reporting over 1.5 billion people watching the match between Argentina Vs France! You can find more information and get pumped up by going to https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments/mens/worldcup/canadamexicousa2026.

Movies

Now we’re talking about cinema. There are some exciting movies that we’re waiting for this year.

Some of them are Avengers; Doomsday release date in december 18th,

Spider-Man: Brand New Day release date in June 31th. Others are Dune: Part Three, release date on December 18th, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters May 22th, and Toy Story 5 on June 19th.

Honestly, I am most excited for Avengers Doomsday. In the last movie we saw the death of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, but he is now becoming Dr.Doom, one of the most crucial villains for Marvel! Dr. Doom will be played by Robert Downey Jr., the same actor as Tony Stark but a completely different character. Spiderman: Brand New Day, with Spiderman portrayed by Tom Holland, might be the most famous and most human hero in all of Marvel. He is just a teenager, he makes mistakes like everyone else and tries to balance controlling and using his powers for good with taking care of his own life. Toy Story 5 Story is focused on how kids are now playing more with ipads and technology than with toys and their own imaginations. I think that most of us are waiting for these same sequel movies, to see what happens next with these characters.

Video Games

Some of the most anticipated events in the gaming industry this 2026 are:

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) the most awaited game of all time! The last gta was V (5), released in 2013, so people have been waiting for 13 years for the next chapter of this saga. It will be released on November 19th.

Resident Evil Requiem, a survival horror game, is coming out on February 27th. The original game established the survival horror genre, introducing mechanics like limited ammo, puzzle-solving, and eerie exploration that became industry standards.

Forza Horizon 6, an open world car driving simulator, allows you to travel around a country and make good memories with your friends while racing with your favorite car brands. For example, in Forza Horizon 5, the map is based on Mexico. In the game you can imagine you have a Mexican friend and you go to his house in the game with your favorite car, and then you drive around Mexico with that friend. Coming out in the first half of this year, the Forza Horizon saga will continue with a map based on Japan, which is one of maps fans have been asking for the most!

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 4 is not confirmed by Activision, but some rumors and trustworthy leakers online are saying that Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 4 will be released in late 2026. Call of Duty (COD) remains one of the world’s most popular video game franchises due to its blend of accessible mechanics, constant progression, amazing graphics, and multiplayer mode. It’s also known for its massive marketing campaigns, so I’m sure we’ll know if we’re getting COD 4 very soon!

Lowkey… this year is a good year! It’s not only because of the media I just wrote about, but it’s also a good year in real life. If 2025 wasn’t the best year for you, then you should start to make this year a good year. You have 12 months, that’s 365 days, or 8,760 hours, a lot of time to be creative, make friends, learn new stuff or become a whole new person who is better than you were last year. So, let’s all hope that this year will be better for everyone, that we will get closer to God and be with blessings.
