My First Visit To a High School Art Show
March 16 was the date, I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at Boston Art Academy at Ipswich St, to support my friend Makoto at her first art show. The hot sun shone as bright as my excitement.
There were many sections of art, one for each student. The art that was on display were paintings of ice skaters, and other athletes, and drawings of endangered animals with symbols that represent why they are endangered. And they made clay sculptures that represent freedom. It was cool to see many ways of self-expression.
Lots of the art was the same, but had different colours like blue, red, purple, pink. It was cool, I liked it, and the variety was also very diverse, no one picked the same thing to paint. I know the teacher probably made them do that, but still, it was nice.
No art really stood out to me, but the people did, as they remind me of my old friends. If I had to pick one display it would be my friend’s, his style was very cool. I would love to see more of it. Art is in everything, from the stuff you wear to the stuff you listen too. I’m glad that me and the people that attended are a part of that community. Speaking of that community, the people that attended the art show with me was Val, Jay, and Ms. Labella. I liked looking at art and hanging out with my friends. I even saw my old friend who also goes to BAA!
I would recommend young artists to do art shows, the one I went to was very cool. These students’ pieces could get into museums, or maybe the students could one day work for Disney, Pixar, or Mappa. I do wish for all artists to have jobs doing art in the future, especially since this is more and more unlikely. If you like making art and looking at art, you should attend art shows.
